I have begun to make Japanese inspired doll’s house by self education from 20 years ago.
There’s a lot of culture coming in from overseas and a rapid economic growth after the war, “a life in character with Japan” has rapidly been losing. It has changed completely what is called traditional entertainments or not only a house but also “people’s life.”
I would like to reproduce an inside and outside of “the popular house, store, and life” faithfully which existed before changing completely, like reappearing a pencil on a desk that could even see a genuine one. I would like to stop forever “the time when seemingly Japan was real Japan” in the inner part of the heart. A scale rate is normally 1/12 and 1/50, 1/70 when it is small.
The houses or rows of houses of “Showa Era” that reproduced faithfully take you off to the good old time and recall you memories of Showa era.
People who come to see my personal exhibition sometimes stand in front of a piece all day long and begin to shed tears with memories overflow it, and also come to see by relative because of too much of nostalgia.
Memories live firmly by somewhere. I hope to be able to continue making “the ultimate memories” which can never be expressed with a photograph or a picture.
